Weaving A Tale
Jennifer Allen Art Exhibition at the Hall of the Red Earl, Druid Lane
December 1st To December 23rd

Jennifer Allen, a self-taught artist based in Limerick, specialises in white pencil drawings. Her work is created solely by using white pencil on black paper, layering up elements to create depth and texture. Her work is atmospheric and detailed, with a particular emphasis on capturing expressive faces, musical instruments and character in all forms.
Jennifer has exhibited in Ireland, (solo exhibitions including ‘Out of Darkness’ and ‘Into the Light’; group exhibitions at the Frank McCourt Museum and the Georgian House, Limerick). Jennifer was also guest artist at iBAM (Irish Books, Art and Music) in Chicago.
Many of her subjects are people with very expressive faces — she loves the many stories in each line and wrinkle. Her portraits are not just realistic, they have a strong emotional component, feeling intimate and thoughtful.
