A full walking tour of Medieval Galway, These are the audio guides for 10 historic sites of interest in Galway City, Ireland. The tour commences and finishes at Eyre Square. Sites include Lynch’s Castle, St Nicholas Collegiate Church, The Kings Head, Kirwan’s Lane, Blake’s Castle, The Spanish Arch, Hall of the Red Earl, and the Medieval wall’s of Galway. This is a nice self-guided tour encompassing the main medieval archaeological and historical sites of interest within Galway City, educational audio guides you can listen to at your convenience and leisure.
These audio guides are provided by Galway Civic Trust / Dúchas na Gaillimhe, a heritage charity with offices at the Hall of the Red Earl on Druid Lane. Galway Civic Trust also provides free tours for the public every Tuesday and Thursday, commencing at the Hall of the Red Earl at 2pm. There is no need to book a place, just show-up at 2pm on a Tuesday or Thursday and a tour guide will meet you and give a 90 minute (approximately) tour of the city. This is free, but of course donations are gladly accepted.
