On behalf of Galway Civic Trust, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Grealish family for their remarkable stewardship of The Kings Head since 1989. Over the past 36 years, you have not only safeguarded an iconic building of immense historic importance, but you have also ensured that it continued to thrive as a vibrant cultural and social landmark in the heart of Galway.

Through the dedication of three generations of your family, and the loyalty of your staff, The Kings Head has become a true cornerstone of The Latin Quarter—cherished by Galwegians and visitors from around the world. Your work has greatly enriched the life, heritage, and hospitality of our city, and for this we are deeply grateful.

We wish Paul, Mary, Sarah, Ruairí, and Aran every success in the future and look forward to seeing you continue to be part of Galway’s story in new and wonderful ways.

At the same time, we warmly welcome the Linnane family as the new custodians of The Kings Head. With their long-standing experience in hospitality, we are confident they will continue the proud traditions of this historic venue while adding their own mark for generations to come.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh, and here’s to the next chapter in the life of this great Galway landmark.
