Galway Civic Trust are hosting a 2 hour public meeting, 10am – 12pm, Saturday 19 August, to celebrate the important contributions of women to Irish heritage, and to get ideas, thoughts, recommendations, from all members of the community, with the aim of introducing a day in the week of every Heritage Week going forward, about women’s contributions to heritage, and specifically celebrating women’s heritage in Galway.

The event will include a heritage walk through the streets of Galway, highlighting the historic landmarks and significant sites associated with women’s achievements, struggles, and empowerment.

The informal, open discussion, will be followed by a HerGalway Walking Tour at 12.15pm

Tour is Free of Charge, and begins at the Hall of the Red Earl, on Druid Lane.

Hear the stories of some remarkable women associated with Galway City with experienced regional guide and member of Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland, Marteen Lane.
