On Wednesday,  24th May 2023, we had the pleasure of a visit from Patrick J Conneely Sr., known also as the ‘Irish Skipper’. Patrick spent his life as a merchant mariner, now retired and living in Plymouth, Massachusetts, he writes poetry about his life’s experiences. Below are four videos showing Patrick reciting some of his poem’s at our Galway Civic Trust Office on Druid Lane.
The four work’s recited by Patrick here are; An Immigrant’s Last Farewell, Mother England, My Island in the Sky, and The Visitor.
