Galway Civic Trust is pleased to announce that generous support has been provided by The Heritage Council of Ireland through the Community Heritage Grant Scheme, in conjunction with Galway City Council, to Promote Heritage Premises and Public Engagement in Galway.
This exciting project is now underway and will run until mid-September. Galway Civic Trust / Dúchas na Gaillimhe are working hard to realize our project goals and plan to host one of the most memorable series of public events during Heritage Week, which runs from 13th – 21st August 2022.
The project includes the publication of new interpretative texts about our local history and heritage, to be made available to the community in written, audio, and video formats, with translations into several languages.
The Hall of the Red Earl on Druid Lane will also benefit from this generous funding with the installation of a modern multi-media experience for visitors, appropriate for what is probably the most important archaeological site within the city of Galway.
We are delighted with this grant funding supported by The heritage Council. We are appealing to you, the community to get in touch with us to share any ideas, old photographs, stories, documents, or other artifacts related to the Heritage of Galway, that you may have in your possession. You can do so by contacting Galway Civic Trust at our office in the Hall of the Red Earl. Custom House, Druid Lane, Galway, Ireland H91 XV2C.Tel: 091 564946. You can also use our online contact form.
