Dúchas na Gaillimhe – Galway Civic Trust is a heritage charity committed to protecting and enhancing Galway’s natural, built and cultural heritage for the benefit of all. The Trust adopts a hands-on approach which includes supporting a number of other non-profit and charity organisations and undertaking improvement, conservation and education projects in support of its mission.

Established in 1992, we have completed over 50 projects, ranging from the erection of historic wall plaques to the refurbishment of Rusheen Bay Bird Sanctuary and restoration of the Fishery Watch Tower at Wolfe Tone Bridge.

In partnership with the Department of Social Protection, Galway City Council and Galway County Council, Galway Chamber of Commerce & Industry, The Heritage Council of Ireland, and the local community, we undertake works for the enhancement of Galway city and county

Who we are…

Cé muid féin?

Dúchas na Gaillimhe – Galway Civic Trust is a hands-on heritage organisation with a mission to take practical steps to protect and enhance Galway’s natural, built and cultural heritage for the benefit of all.

Tá Dúchas na Gaillimhe tiomanta dár dteanga dhúchais  a chosaint agus a chur chun cinn. Tá sé seo préamhaithe  inár mana a thagann ón seanfhocal “As dúchas dóchas”.

By supporting us, you lend your voice to our voice, thereby together making a stronger case for culturally sensitive developments and protection of our heritage.

Also we actively aim to support heritage, conservation, community groups and organisations through active support.

Ní neart go cur le chéile

There is no strength without unity
