Dating back to the 13th century, the archaeological ruins are linked to the founding of the city itself by the Anglo-Norman De Burgo clan. An incredibly significant monument, let\u2019s dust off the history behind the glass panes on Druid Lane\u2026<\/p>\n<p>An opportunity to glimpse an accurate depiction of medieval life as experienced by Anglo-Normans at the Hall of the Red Earl, Druid Lane, Galway. We will be hosting two full day events of medieval reenactments, played out by a cast under the direction of archaeologist James McKeon, along with scripts that have been professionally written based upon real historical events during the DeBurgo over-lordship of the region. We will also be giving free guided walks of Medieval Galway from the Hall of the Red Earl.<\/p>\n<p>With origins in the 1200s, The Hall of the Red Earl was Galway\u2019s very first municipal building and was utilised for tax collection, banquet hosting and the general administration of justice.
