Galway Civic Trust is delighted to present Unbroken<\/em><\/strong>, a powerful new solo exhibition by Limerick artist Jennifer Allen<\/strong>, whose distinctive white-on-black pencil drawings have captivated audiences across Ireland and beyond.<\/p>\n

Working exclusively with white pencil on black paper, Jennifer builds each piece through delicate layers of light, creating extraordinary depth, texture and atmosphere. Her work invites viewers to slow down, drawing them into portraits and studies that celebrate resilience, humanity and the beauty found in life’s imperfections. <\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition’s title, Unbroken<\/em><\/strong>, reflects the enduring strength of the human spirit. Through expressive faces, weathered hands and richly detailed subjects, Jennifer explores stories of perseverance, hope, memory and quiet dignity. Every wrinkle, every line and every carefully rendered highlight becomes part of a narrative that is both deeply personal and universally recognisable.<\/p>\n

Self-taught and based in Limerick, Jennifer has exhibited widely throughout Ireland, with previous solo exhibitions including Out of Darkness<\/em>, Into the Light<\/em> and Weaving a Tale<\/em>. Her work has also featured in group exhibitions at the Frank McCourt Museum and the Georgian House in Limerick, and she has represented Ireland as a guest artist at iBAM (Irish Books, Art and Music) in Chicago. <\/span><\/p>\n

Among the featured works is Handful of Dreams<\/em><\/strong>, an evocative drawing that perfectly encapsulates the exhibition’s themes of hope, vulnerability and endurance.<\/p>\n

Visitors are warmly invited to experience this compelling collection of original artworks in the unique surroundings of the historic Hall of the Red Earl.<\/p>\n
