As part of the Peadar O\u2019Dowd Memorial Day<\/strong>, Galway Civic Trust proudly presents a special Heritage Week concert<\/strong> honouring the life and legacy of local historian and founding member, Peadar O\u2019Dowd (1941\u20132024).<\/span><\/p>\n

Taking place at the Mick Lally Theatre<\/strong>, this evening of music celebrates Galway\u2019s living cultural heritage through song, storytelling, and community.<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme features:

Set in the heart of the Latin Quarter, this concert is part of a full day of heritage events exploring Galway\u2019s archaeology, architecture, waterways, and poetry\u2014each reflecting the passion and scholarship Peadar dedicated his life to preserving.<\/span><\/p>\n

Peadar\u2019s lifelong dedication to preserving and sharing Galway\u2019s rich history has left an enduring legacy, and this commemorative series reflects the breadth of his interests, from medieval archaeology to waterways, migration, music, and community memory.<\/p>\n

The full programme includes a range of lectures, performances, tours, and cultural activities at the Mick Lally Theatre and the Hall of the Red Earl, both located on Druid Lane in Galway\u2019s Latin Quarter.
