The Irish Patchwork Society (IPS) is pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting two collections of quilts for the duration of Heritage week 2022, at the Hall of the Red Earl, Druid Lane, Galway.

“Language Landscape Migration”

This exhibition consists of 19 art quilts, each 20″ x 20″ on the themes of Language Landscape Migration expressing our members’ responses to these three themes. Many of the pieces reference biodiversity and preserving our environment. The pieces incorporate diverse and innovative textile art techniques.

“Recycled Textiles”

The IPS is a member of the European Quilts Association (EQA) and these pieces are a response to an EQA challenge to create a piece using recycled textiles. Originally a virtual exhibition during Covid lockdown, we are delighted to have the opportunity to show these pieces in reality. From recycled jeans to delicate embroidered napkins, the works on display use a wide variety of materials and techniques. They are a great demonstration of how to quilt in a sustainable way.
