To celebrate #WorldBookDay Inland Fisheries Ireland have launched a historical picture book based on the 1902 Cork Collection of Salmon Flies. The collection of flies was commissioned for the Cork International Exhibition of 1902, making them 120 years old this year.

The flies hold an important place in Irish angling heritage and display the detail and beauty of traditional Irish salmon flies made by fly-tiers from the various fishery districts in Ireland at that time.
Over 380 individual salmon flies have been catalogued for this project, representing twenty fishery districts such as Galway, Ballina, Killarney, Dublin, Ballyshannon and Lismore.
